December is often dismissed as a "lost month", a time to wind down, indulge, and wait for the fresh promise of a new year. But what if you flipped that script? Instead of treating December as an ending, you could see it as a powerful beginning, a time to make some positive changes.
Here's why I believe December is the perfect time to embrace action, not procrastination.
Change starts today, not next week, next month or next year. Waiting for January is just an excuse to start, and it won't be any easier if you wait. December is a full 31 days of opportunity. Don't waste it waiting for an arbitrary date. While most people shift into "Christmas autopilot," this is your chance to stand out. If you want to kick start the fitness journey, the gyms are quiet; there are deals to be had on online courses, and the bookshops have a glut of personal development books on offer; you could smash a couple of them out before the years out.
Starting something and taking action to change can seem overwhelming, so I understand why people put it off. But once you overcome the resistance, it gets easier; all you have to do is start. Then, take small steps, build momentum and keep going. Those small actions will snowball into big results.
