Habit #1 Clean Eating

If you're reading this blog but haven't read the one I posted yesterday, it would be an excellent idea to read that first, as you need the context it provides to make sense of this and the following 11 blogs.

So I will assume you have read it first, so let's go.

The first of "The 12 Habits" is clean eating.

This habit won't surprise you if you're a regular reader of my stuff.

For good reason, I never shy away from the opportunity to talk about food and nutrition. Because of everything I have experienced in my personal development, changing what and how I ate had the biggest positive impact.

What we eat has a massive effect on how we feel mentally, physically and emotionally.

So, as food has a massive effect on how we feel and is one of the essentials to staying alive, up there with air and water, you would think we would prioritise understanding good nutrition. Yet, so many people don't, which can lead to devastating consequences.

But these consequences can be avoided with a few simple practices, basic nutrition knowledge and some discipline around portion sizes. And the good news is all this is way easier to develop than you may have been led to believe.

You can eat clean, healthy, and cheaply with just eight recipes, some basic ingredients and simple kitchen skills. And the thing with this habit is you're going to eat every day, so it's a habit you can work on immediately.

People get put off changing what they eat because they think it's boring or will mean giving up things they like. This is a myth; you can eat tasty food, have plenty of choices and still have some things you class as "treats."

But I can guarantee that once you feel the true impact of eating clean, those "treats" will become less appealing. And only a few days into making better food choices, you will soon realise that nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.

Come back tomorrow for habit #2
