A new normal

The Christmas and New Year celebrations are over. This morning, I took the tree down, packed the decorations back in their boxes and put them into our little storage cupboard until they are needed again next December.

For most people, these next few days will be about getting back to normal.

I overheard someone at the gym this morning informing her friend that it felt good to be "getting back to normal".

But my question is, are you happy to be "getting back to normal?"

For way too many people, normal is going back to doing the same thing they did before Christmas and, in fact, probably the same normal they have been stuck with for many years now.

It's surprising how quickly and how long we can tolerate doing stuff we don't like while holding onto some wishful hope that one day, things will get better and life will become this joy-filled, exciting journey.

Let me tell you something you already know: life will not change or get any better unless you change and get better.

And although changing and getting better comes with challenges, and requires a fair amount of effort. So does staying exactly where you are.

So, as we enter the New Year, maybe it's time to question your normal and decide if it's time to have a new normal, a better normal in the coming months.

And if a new normal is something you would like to experience, get in touch. I am pretty good at making it happen.

Take Care
