Removing Distractions

Well, it's been a while since I last posted a blog; in fact, it's been a while since I did anything much on my Facebook page or website. So today, I decided it was time to rectify that.

Since the start of 2024, I have been a busy boy, working on my latest project, The 12 Habits. This project came from an idea for a podcast episode that just kept getting bigger. It has morphed now into a 12-month coaching and accountability program, a new website and a Facebook page. It goes live next week.

So, to get back into the swing of blogging, I want to talk about removing distractions.

The only reason I got to where I am with my project as soon as I did is that I removed all distractions and just focused on what needed to be done. Time online, scrolling on Facebook and Instagram, and even watching YouTube videos all had to go. The result was completing a task I believed would take six months in less than three.

When you remove distractions and become uber-focused, you get way more done, and in turn, you will realise that most of the time we spend online is mainly doing dumb shit that is unnecessary.

Distractions can take many forms; online is the biggest culprit, but unnecessary meetings and calls must go if you want to get stuff done.

When people tell me they struggle to get stuff done, and I ask them to tell me what they do each day, most of it could be put off, done more efficiently and quite honestly just avoided.

I have missed posting my blogs. I like doing them, but when things need your focus, the stuff you like must be put to one side until the tasks are complete.

If you're struggling to complete a task or a project, just have a few days to remove all unnecessary distractions and see what happens. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much you can get done.

Take Care
