Annoyingly positive

Heading out to the gym on Monday morning, I faced the reality that the unseasonably warm weather we have experienced lately was a thing of the past.

I see this as a positive thing.

When it's cold out, I don't tend to stroll to the gym; I get a wiggle on to keep warm. And then, when I get to the gym, the temperature inside makes it a pleasant place to be and helps motivate me to get my workout done.

Then, when I am finished and head back into the cold, it assists me in cooling down.

But what has this got to do with you?

Well, this blog is about looking for the positives in situations.

Things don't always go to plan, and situations are rarely ideal so developing a mindset that looks for the positives is a smart move. And with a bit of focus and practice, it can become a habit.

Developing this habit myself over the years, I have gone from a bloke who was a bit of a pessimist to one of those annoying people who always seems optimistic.

So, if you want to join me in the annoyingly positive club, here is a simple question you can ask yourself anytime something comes up that is challenging:

"What is the positive in this situation?"

It might take a bit of working out, but there always is one.

The answer will give you an instant shift in focus, change your feelings, and help you be more optimistic about what you are dealing with.

It's a really simple mindset hack that works. So the next time you're faced with something not going to plan, give it a go.

And in case you read through this quickly and didn't quite get what I said, we are looking to be annoyingly positive, not positively annoying. Noboys like those kinds of people!

Take Care
