53

On October 31st, I celebrated my 53rd birthday. Hurrah, I managed to survive another year.

Typically, I like to take a couple of days after the anniversary of my entering the game we call life to reflect on the last 12 months and set some intentions for what I want to do during my next lap around the sun.

I have been doing this for many years. I call them my birthday resolutions, and it's a practice I highly recommend.

Why?

Unlike the January New Year resolutions, where everyone seems to be setting intentions and goals, doing it on your birthday is more personal to you.

And let's be fair, the New Year resolutions thing has become a bit of a joke as nobody can seem to keep them going past February. I have to be honest; that was my experience. That's why I stopped making them.

But once I started to make birthday resolutions, my success rate was much better. 80% of the intentions I set, I nail.

So, the next time you celebrate your birthday, why not give it a go? You might be pleasantly surprised by just how effective it is.

I won't bore you with all my newly set intentions, but one of them is to get back to writing my regular weekly blog, which has somewhat stuttered this year. This post ticks that box.

And in case you didn't work it out, the picture attached to this blog is of me around my 1st birthday. I don't think I have changed much at all.

Take Care
